This mat cutter has a heavy particle board base with a smooth durable surface. Mounted to it is a High-Tech Teflon® coated cutting bar that requires no lubrication and has a serrated bottom to keep mats in place while cutting. It has a fully scaled 27" squaring arm to hold mats perfectly square and squaring angles stops for precise sizing of mat boards in volume. Also included is a short squaring arm if the 27" size is not needed.

The maintenance-free dual-sided cutting head glides on the cutting rail and performs flawlessly at all times. One side is a straight cutting head and the other is for making your mat openings creating a perfect bevel. The bevel cutter has a thumb rest for fatigue when cutting lots of mats.

For production cutting, the 650 has wonderful 8" movable stops offering precise calibration, and like all Logan mat cutters a mat width cutting guide allowing you to set borders up to 5¼" without the use of any other measuring device. Just pull up on the production stops and set it and the mat guide to allow you to cut multiple mats of the same size without making any adjustments. An automatic locking device for straight cutters keeps cuts sure and true. Measuring 45¼' long, it will cut up tp a 40" opening in just one pass.

With its 27" squaring arm, dual guide-rail production stops and bevel and straight head cutters it will cut anything you throw at it including: Double Mats, Inlays, V-Grooves, Multiple Openings and Fancy Mats.

The hand cutter moves on the specially designed aluminum guide-rail and features a patented cutting system. This cutter has start and stop indicators to control over cuts, a "Pivot & Pull" high performance design principle, adjustable blade depth, an anti-crawl button to prevent blade "creep" and a patented blade slot for straighter bevel cuts. The guide-rail has a serrated underside to hold board in place while cutting.

The straight cutter with its three blade depth settings and 3" ergonomic handle along with an accurate side measuring scale allows you to perfectly prepare mat board, foam core, and backing boards for framing. Setting mat border widths has never been easier. Just set border guide to widths up to 5-1/4" in 1/16" increments and place board in mat cutter.
