Sometimes it brings out the worst in people. One year at Target this lady tried to lift my item from my cart i caught her and she actually had the audacity to act like she thought it was abandoned
Nobody is getting at my stuff!!! |

Wow. That is crazy! I am NOT surprised though. I have seen some scary fights before. One lady got her nose broken over a TV.
I guess when the Nintendo DS came out some lady went to our Walmart and put them all in her cart and was charging people 30.00 to get one out of the cart. Some guy grabbed 2 and ran and paid for them. She actually called the police and they tried to make him return them, because of some rule about not being able to take things out of people's carts at Walmart. This wasn't a Black Friday thing, but still. It is the only instance I think it would be okay to actually take something out of a cart. No, I don't mess with that. But if someone had tried to take something out of my cart I would have said "Excuse me????"

I have seen a few people push and shove a bit but not a big brawl I had someone steal my shoe in a walmart, I was standing in the wrong place when the vaccums became available. We never did find it, the cops where involved and well needless to say my hubbie won't go back shopping with me on black friday now. This post has been edited by SilverRose: Sep 10 2007, 12:23 PM |

DH one year went ot K-mart, two men where loading up their shopping carts with Tonka trucks. This lady came up to the shelf and grabbed a truck, one of the men informed her that all the tonka trucks were his and to put it back, well she did.
DH went up the shelf and grabbed the same truck the lady had, again one of the men infomred DH that the trucks where his. DH looked at him and said " no they're not!" and walked off with it found the lady and gave her the truck. I've never been to a black friday sale myself. |

LOL...I would have liked to have seen that guy get away with that when a store manager was called!! Go your Hubby!! That was really great of him. Someone was nice to my Husband on Black Friday once. He wanted to get a Care Bear Pillow for our son and a nice lady found the one my Husband wanted and gave it to him from her cart because she had already taken a few. It was nice. |

One Black Friday a store received a late shipment of Beanie Babies and a lady was slapping my hand to drop them as they were the HTF bears, but that was during the time they were worth money. Sad thing is, this lady has done it to others during the whole Beanie Baby fad to sell them on the secondary market. What is even sad, this same lady was a day care sitter who took kids to stores hunting for Beanie Babies, and when they had the new and HTF ones she gave the kids money to buy them, so she would have more to sell on the secondary market, considering stores were limiting one per customer of the new and HTF ones. This lady made thousands of dollars off of those Beanies during that Beanie fad.

Loli used to be a supervisor at K-Mart some years ago. She told me about a sale they had on black friday on TV's. They were on display and thats all they had....you snooze you lose basically. When people were allowed in, they all ran to the TV's. Loli said that several fights broke out and the police had to be called.
I have a hard time comprehending this amount of violence (or any for that matter) over ANY item. Isn't Christmas shopping supposed to be fun and festive....where did the Christmas spirit go? |

That's what I saw at Target. It floored me that people were willing to trample each other for a cheap stereo. It wasn't even "where did the Christmas spirit go?" it was more like "what has happened to civilization as we know it?" To each his own, though. I can understand how some people would get a thrill out of BF. |

This lady made thousands of dollars off of those Beanies during that Beanie fad. My sis was an assistant manager at a place that would get them in. Some lady would take her kids in at 6am (when the mall doors opened for walkers) and would make them sit there till 10:00 when the store opened and then would have them buy one each. My Sis felt so bad for them because she asked if they got to keep them and they looked so sad when they told her "no." We used to shop at a Good Will that got in designer clothes with tags. Some lady would use her little 4 year old to block people from getting to the racks or to steal things out of carts for her. I kid you not! It is horrid how these people use kids!!! QUOTE I only went out on Black Friday once, and it was enough. Some lady tried to steal my whole cart at Target, but she underestimated me She actually tried to steal your cart with your stuff in it? What is wrong with people???? |

Makes no sense at all. It is material things.
But the whole reason for the season message is gone too so I don't put anything past people anymore. Its more sad....just like the lady on tv using her child to steal a purse. WTH??? Have people lost their minds. |

I've seen some pretty brutal fights break out. Especially when ppl have been waiting in line all night at Wal-Mart, just to find out that there was only 2 of the item that they wanted. I saw two ladies get in a fight on the grocery aisle of Wal-Mart one time. One lady pushed the other one into the shelves and like 10 giant jars of pickles hit the floor and splattered everywhere. It was awful! The cops had to get involved with that one too. If I remember correctly they were fighting over a $20 DVD player. The most hurt I've seen someone get though, is one time when they opened the doors at Wal-Mart, this lady behind us tripped and fell and was litterally trampled so bad that it broke her arm. We saw her friend (the one who had been standing with her in line) at Toys-R-Us later and she said that ppl wouldn't stop walking over her, even though she was yelling for help.

I was in Wal-Mart about 3 or 4 years ago. I was purchasing some collector's knife set for about $25.00 (not a BF early bird special) as a stocking stuffer for my husband. The couple behind me at the sports counter found out I had the last one in my hand. I overheard them say "Well, we will just jump her in the parking lot and take it, if that is the last one". Luckily for me, there was another one behind the counter. I couldn't believe that someone would attack another person for something so trivial.

That angers me to no end...I don't care WHAT was on sale or how bad I wanted it...I would have helped that poor woman up. Some people really need their heads examined. |

I wouldn't be able to live with myself on Christmas morning knowing I trampled someone for that stuff.
