I bought this alarm clock the last time it was posted and I definitely regret it. The clock requires four AAA batteries, and that's only for the color changing lights. The craftsmanship of the battery compartment is shoddy, so that they don't align properly. The door isn't flush against the batteries, so they have a tendency to shift, pop out, and cause the lights to stop working. Less than a week after I put brand-new batteries in, the lights stopped working altogether. Now, only the red color works. Also, the clock and temperature functions run on two separate (included) zinc air or "hearing aid" batteries. This compartment is also badly made, and the batteries can shift, causing the tones to go very out of tune. It does, however, wake me up, since the sound is very annoying.

I now wish I had spent 10-20 more dollars on an alarm clock from Sharper Image or Target. Just thought I'd warn anyone who was thinking about buying this item.
