The Screw-Propelled Remote Control Car
This all-terrain remote-control car uses a pair of rotating screws to propel across water, snow, sand, and solid surfaces, the same way that the Snowbird 6 vehicle crossed the Bering Strait during the Ice Challenger British exploration expedition of 2002. With more range of movement than a typical car, the vehicle's screws rotate in opposite directions to move it forward or backwards, the same direction to move laterally, and rotate at different speeds to turn the car. The transmitter has a range of 164' and uses a 9V alkaline battery. The vehicle operates at maximum speeds of 7 mph on land and 4 mph on water using a 7.2 V rechargeable battery.
