Stress Busters

Posted by fheenix33 on June 26, 2009

I’m always amused by magazine articles that offer advice on how to quickly ease stress.  They offer insightful ways to instantly calm daily stress gently easing  you into a peaceful state of mind.  Some of the more comical suggestions I’ve read are ”roll up your area rugs and walk around your house barefoot like your on a beach house vacation.”  For those of us who have a fully carpeted house and have never been to a beach house this suggestion proves to be absolutely useless.

“Blow up a balloon in slow puffs” was another option.  Well, if you can get past the dizziness and the feeling that you’re going to faint, I’m sure this will work well for you.  Another one on the list was “drink a large glass of cold water and go for a walk.”   I was fairly optimistic about this one until I got down to the end of my road and had to rush home to use the little girls room.  The urge to try that one again simply wasn’t there.  My all time favorite suggestion was “crawl between your sheets after washing them with Tide Simple Pleasures Lavender.”  I think it’s fair to say that most of  us don’t have the option to walk away from our work or other daily obligations to do a load of laundry and take a nap.

New Beginnings

Posted by lacywebb on March 17, 2009

hanginthere I’m so excited to begin a new chapter in my life. I just started my new job as the office assistant at DealTaker a couple of weeks ago, I’m getting married next Sunday and Ill be turning 29 at the end of this month. With anything new there comes added stress but that can be a good thing in life; when a challenge is presented the best way to handle it is with a positive attitude.

I am learning that the key do the best job that you can do, after that it’s out of your hands. There is no point in worrying about something you can’t change. Everyone needs ways to relieve the tensions of everyday life and lately my stress relief comes from the gym. My favorite method of torture is the spin classl. The more brutal the better. It feels so good to push the limits and leave all my stress back at the gym when I head for home.

With all that being said Ill leave you with a quote that sometimes helps me deal with life (I have it stuck to my bathroom mirror).

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” -Emerson
