Definitely, please do add to this list! If do you post a site, please don't add the http at the beginning because that will make it a link. Also, click "Preview Post" to make sure you don't get "Sorry this is a spam site" in its place. If you do, add the word "dot" in place of the period, and it should work yes.gif

I'm really glad you did this, mypasos!! yes.gif wub.gif I looked at sutterscreek and didn't see any freebies noclue.gif

LIFTOFF FREE ENERGY DRINK

www.energydrinknow.com/home.php?refid=self]http://www.energydrinknow.com/home.php?refid=self[/url]
If you read their COPYWRITE & DISCLAIMER "first" before entering
your name and email address you will see that this is a spam site because
you are then re-directed to another link that has nothing to do with
the above link.

billyboycandiesonline.com/ourcandy.html

Its spam.

The site is a new site, its registered to an address that doesn't physically exist.

I have sent an email to them this a.m. requesting some information.
Should I receive a response I'll be sure to post it!

there is a phone number on the website...

508-995-4556

Has anyone called to see if they maybe are changing websites? Or adding to their existing website?

And the address does exist...check google maps!

here is the link from superpages.com...I guess they are lying too, that this is not really a business?

Yes, I called the real company, and the other site is a bogus site. Like I said, they copied their site entirely. They contacted the proper authorities, and the bogus site should be removed soon. yes.gif

What happens when you've sent your info to one of these sites?

What happens when you've sent your info to one of these sites?

Well, sometimes your info can be sold to marketing companies, other spam sites, or jerks, and you will get a ton of spam. You have to be careful not to open spam because it may contain viruses. Sometimes nothing happens. I don't always see an increase in spam after I sign up on bad sites. Once the damage is done, there is nothing you can do to fix it, but you can always get a new email address yes.gif

To avoid spam, if you come across a site that you think looks phishy, you can go to http://www.whois.net and type in the site address. See when the site was created, their contact info, their server info, etc. If a site was created yesterday and they're offering free stuff without any way to make a purchase, chances are they are a phishing site.

I know you dont have Baby one step on there, but i know people were saying spam when the link was posted. Just wanted everyone to know...

I got an email from them this morning saying:

"Our records indicate that you signed up to receive a free baby Gift
Basket containing Blanket and Stuffed Toy from OneStep Babies
recently.

The offer is now complete and all orders are being sorted. Those who
signed up early enough should be receiving their gift basket within
the next 2 weeks smile.gif "

I think you're absolutely right - I got the same email, and there was an offer link on it that takes you to yourproductsamples, which is one of those "complete an offer" things. BAD. And yes, when you click the link to unsubscribe, it takes you to: www.onestepbabies.com

Anyone wanting to see if a site is legit, hit godaddy.com

click WHOIS link at bottom of page

enter the URL of site in question

See if it lists the contact info of who owns the domain

If its a hidden domain registration, well personally I avoid those... pirate.gif

A registered domain with names, phone numbers etc at least have a way to contact someone if u need to

just my .02
