2 UFOs

If a UFO is literally an Unidentified Flying Object I have seen two.  Well one for sure and one that some stranger at a campground in Panama Rocks NY told me was a UFO.

I think I was 10 maybe 11 and was camping with the folks.  Somehow one night my father and I ended up chatting with an older man and woman (old to me at the time anyway) in front of our camper.   There was a big clearing of the trees overhead and the stars were a ‘twinkling.  The man asked me if I watched TV.  I said Yes.  He then told me to be careful because one time he was watching TV and a message came through from the extra-terrestrials.  Either I was holding my father’s hand before this or he took it when the extra-terrestrials were mentioned, but I distinctly remember him holding my hand and looking at me with a “well what do you know!  They’re talking about Martians to my 10 year old daughter” look.  I  think that Dad would have excused us but I really found this sort of funny and very interesting, so we stayed.

I asked the man how he knew they were extra-terrestrials.    He said “They’re everywhere!  Look – there is one now” and all four of us looked up through the clearing where I saw a jet overhead.  Way up there, obviously well past take off and no landing plans as yet.  Heck I even knew it was a jet.  So I asked him how he knew it was a UFO, (because all 10 year olds in 1976 knew that extra-terrestrials rode around in UFOs).  I will never forget how he replied although I do forget the specific directions he cited.  He said “Because that UFO is traveling NW to SE and all of the planes travel NE to SW around here”  Ummm OK………

Pretty sure that one was a plane but the next time my mother and I both saw a UFO, in fact she showed it to me!

I was about 14 and in my bedroom.  I kept hearing our dog barking, but I heard the sliding glass door open and shut again and again, and knew someone was taking care of her.  After it went on non-stop for 5 or 10 minutes I walked out to the living room and there stood my mom in the sliding glass door with our dog outside barking her head off.  Mom wasn’t looking at the dog though.  I assumed there was a deer or some sort of animal in the yard so I asked her “what’s she barking at?”  She turned around and looked at me with the strangest sort of quirky smile.  Like when you are really excited about something that you are not sure is socially acceptable, and said “Shhhhh, look at this” ……dog continues to bark……

I looked in the direction she was pointing and there in the sky was a UFO.  Not much to describe as far as how it looked – there was a light on it I remember – but what it did was seriously strange:  It just didn’t move, At all, period, for the next 10 minutes.  ……barking, barking……  It was about the height of a hot air balloon that was not taking off or landing but just flying through the air.  I asked “what is it?”  She said “I don’t know” and shot me that excited grin again.   I remember we were both whispering.

Well we started taking shifts watching it.  Mom went to the bathroom….I watched the UFO…..dog barked.   I got a drink…..Mom watched the UFO……and our sweet dog still barked.  Then, out of nowhere, it took off and flew away.  And I dont mean flew away like a plane or hot air balloon, this thing flew off like a bat-out-of-hell and was gone.  Out of site, like it had never been there.  And then Britches our dog,  stopped barking and walked calmly in the house.   My mom looked at me and said “Don’t tell your father”  I asked her why not and she said “‘Cause he’ll think we’re nuts”  Personally, I think he would have hated that he missed the real thing.

How facinating! I must say I do believe in that UFO stuff. There are endless amounts of territory that our scientific capabilities are unable to remotely get close to or examine. We don't have the means to prove that there isn't other intelligent life forms out there. But, like the paranormal, it falls into the socially unacceptable category because people fear the unknown. *sighs and shakes head*
