Running to a New Me

Running_Track_Cropped_websizeRunning has never been something I loved to do but recently I made the decision that its time to take that up as a hobby. I found a great aggressive plan that would position me to be able to run a 5k (roughly 3.1 miles) after 16 weeks of training.

I am now almost two weeks into the training, with new shoes on my feet, and I’ve been doing pretty well. In order to build up stamina the plan starts you out walking then transitions to walking and running with times spent walking being inversely proportional to time spent running. Eventually you end up with 30 minutes of running only. Right now I’m feeling pretty good about the plan but I’ll let you know how it is going in a future blog post.

Happy running!

Yea it's fun and new at the start. I can't run anymore but the best way to keep doing this is find a place to run that the scenery changes or you will get bored.Or go to more than one running area ie different parks, the beach or with someone that has the same abilities as yourself. As soon as you get bored is when it will be tough. keep it up. My dad ran until he was 85 yrs old!!
