The Storm

Just another day in the neighborhood so I thought. Took kid to orthodontist. Seems ok, but I have a broke back window. Dad fixed, but I hit a huge hole in IL and broke it again. That mishap is a whole other story. Soooo, while at orthodontist it starts pouring down rain. Kid has to sit in the back and make sure the window stays up. LOL.

So I’m thinking yeah, some rain, that isn’t so bad. BTW forgot to mention my mum called and told me there were some storms headed our way and to be careful. So we get home and it has stopped raining. We all head to the gym. Work out. Go to Walmart. Get supper. Start heading home. The sky is turning black.

I call my mum to see what is headed our way. Says a town about 30 min away is getting uprooted trees and roofs blown off. Supposed to be 45 mph winds. She says it’s going to hit where we live at 8pm. It’s 10 min till 8. So we are rushing home to beat the storm. Kids are getting a bit worried.  I get on my phone and IM fheenix33 (my weather woman). She has a thing about looking at my doppler. So I ask her if she’s checked it out.

She hadn’t since this morning when she told me I had some bad weather in store for me. I tell her to check it out. So by request I took some pictures. Best I could get on my cell in a moving vehical. Here is where day meets night in an instant. It’s normally so bright and sunny at this time of day.
