Spring has Sprung!
I know that cold weather has it’s place. I mean, the snow and ice kill alot of those pesky bugs which is nice for me considering I live out in the country. (I’ll never forget one year where the grasshoppers were so bad when I walked through the yard it looked like a sea of grasshoppers parting. That was a heck of year as I am not a bug person but I digress) And while I appreciate winter, I love spring. It’s a time of renewal and new beginnings and everything just seems cleaner.
Usually the first sign of spring for me is the robins. This year they showed up in abundance. The snow had just melted and I was standing staring out the front door wondering if the front yard was ever going to dry up when a flock and I do mean a flock, of robins landed in the yard. I have never seen so many in one place. It was amazing and awesome all at the same time.
The second sign of spring is the pretty white blooms on the Bradford Pear trees that line my driveway and the front of the house. They are so pretty. Springtime is so short in Texas that you have to really enjoy it while it’s here.
Birds, flowers, bright colors and long rides on the Harley mean Spring is really here so get out there and enjoy it while it lasts. For those of us in Texas, we know that the moderate temps and green grass won’t last for long as summer, with it’s 100 degree heat and little to no rain, is right around the corner. Happy Spring!
