This is me about an hour before heading into the world of cake pops the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. I was thirsty and needed to hydrate myself. That translates to “mom made mojitos.” Every once in a while I do break free from my laptop and live a little and on this particular night it was all about mojitos and cake pops.
I’m a sucker for M&Ms and their seasonal colors makes it real easy to incorporate them in baked goods. I love the M&Ms autumn colored candy shell this time of year. It inspired me for this weeks Baked With Love…Chocolate Cookies With Fall M&Ms.
When I ask someone what their favorite cookie is I would expect their reply to be chocolate chip or peanut butter. Most of the time, it’s not. The cookie that ranks at the top is No Bake Cookies. If you’re not familiar with these tasty gems, it’s a mixture of sugar, butter, chocolate, oats, milk and peanut butter (optional). The recipe varies a little bit from cookbook to cookbook. Chocolate is pure bliss…it’s that simple. It’s an addiction. A taste of heaven. It’s something we crave. There is just something about chocolate that will make most of us weak at the knees. Although chocolate is mostly thought of in dessert form, it has crept it’s way to other areas of the food groups. You’ll find all forms of chocolate added to sauces, drizzled on meat dishes, added to barbecue rubs and incorporated with hot peppers. If you haven’t tried a cup of chipotle hot chocolate you should.
